Law enforcement officers and firefighters are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. Studies have found that between 17% and 24% experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while 24% experience severe symptoms of depression.
This promotional piece was created to help secure funding for a documentary exploring a largely hidden crisis and raising public awareness of the toll that this work can take.
Using carefully selected stock footage, I created a brief, visceral look into the realities of their everyday experiences. After Effects helped heighten the pace and intensity, creating the punch and emotional impact I was looking for.
